David Packouz shed light on the complexities of his legal struggles over a $5 million debt owed by his partner, relating to their notorious arms dealings. As depicted in the film “War Dogs,” Packouz and his partner, Ephraim Diveroli, were embroiled in legal battles after their operations supplying munitions to Afghanistan came under scrutiny. Despite securing a contract worth $300 million deal with the U.S. government, the fallout was severe. Diveroli received a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence, while Packouz faced house arrest.

Packouz recounted that his attempt to sue Diveroli was hampered by conveniently lost evidence and financial constraints, which limited his ability to pursue a full trial. He revealed that much of Diveroli’s assets were allegedly hidden overseas, complicating any potential recovery. Ultimately, Packouz settled for a fraction of the owed amount, constrained by the reality of legal expenses and elusive assets.
